Raffle for Captain's Weekend
Captain Rick has a special raffle during his Captains Weekend (July 23-25). The proceeds of the raffle will go towards his charity fund. This year the charity is LOROS.
LOROS is a county based charity specialising in hospice care for persons over 16 years of age offering family support.
The prizes include a signed and framed Martin Johnson England rugby shirt, a signed and framed Leicester City shirt, a Mark Selby signed snooker cue and a polo shirt signed by Ian Woosnam, Sam Torrance and Constantino Rocco amongst others.
The selection of prizes is now on display in the Pro Shop, where you can also buy tickets for the raffle.
The first Invitation Day of the year took place last Saturday and was, again, a great success in the new format that we introduced 12 months ago. The day was a sell out and the weather was superb for a rather warm 27 holes of golf. As always, our visitors received special 2 for 1 vouchers so we hope to see many of them back again with their friends etc.
As, like last year, the Invitation Day was sold out quite quickly, we are holding a second Invitation Day in September. It will be on Sunday September 12th. This will follow a more traditional format with 18 holes rather than 27. If you would like to bring someone to the September Invitation Day then why not start to make arrangements now.
Finally and definitely not traditional, is the ‘Vegas Texas Scramble' on Friday July 16th. Teams are now entering for what promises to be a very different 9 hole event. If you fancy a bit of fun followed by a Tex Mex supper (£10 a head for the evening), then add your name to the sheet that is now up in the Clubhouse. Just a reminder that guests can play in this event if they pay the appropriate green fee.
