Captain's Night Out
For the first time a Captain's night out is being organised, with a trip to a Charity Dinner at Wicksteed Park with three excellent speakers. The date is Thursday March 8th.
It's one of the biggest charity nights of the year in the area and has been raising cash and entertaining guests since 1975, becoming one of the longest continual fundraising events around. In its first 37 years it has raised more than £220,000 for good causes.
Past sporting greats who have entertained at the big night include boxer John Conteh, World Cup winners Jack Charlton and Nobby Stiles, outspoken football manager Tommy Docherty and Test Cricket legend Fred Trueman.
This year's big event at Wicksteed takes place on Thursday, March 8th and the speakers are England rugby union World Cup winner and British Lion Ben Kay and England football international Ray Parlour, who won the league and cup double with Arsenal. Yorkshire stand-up comedian Mike Farrell completes the line-up.
The evening is organised by the Rotary Clubs of Kettering and Kettering Huxloe and every penny goes to local good causes.
Tickets are £35.00 per person, which includes a three course meal and plenty of laughs. A booking form is in the Clubhouse and the dinner is open to members and non-members alike. If you would like to book tickets by email, you can do so through website@mhgolf.co.uk. Just let us know how many tickets you would like and add a telephone number too if possible. Don't worry if you just want to book one ticket for yourself as the group from the Club will all be sat together.
