Dress Code Clarification
Dress Code Clarification
Last year the Dress Code was revised and the Committee made a commitment to carry out a review in the spring of this year. That review has now been completed and, as a result, the Dress Code has been revised once again.
Feedback from Members indicated that there was a perception that standards of dress had dipped generally and more specifically, there were concerns expressed that the revised Code contained too many ‘grey areas'.
The new Dress Code is similar to the existing one, but contains a couple of items that are worth highlighting. On the subject of jeans in the Clubhouse, the new Code states that ‘no blue denim or training shoes' may be worn. To clarify however, this means that, for example, black, white or other coloured jeans are allowed. Blue denim is also unacceptable for Lady Members and visitors.
Members are also reminded that golf shirts must be worn inside trousers and shorts on the course.
Details of future social functions will carry the Dress Code acceptable for each specific event, which may include denim jeans etc, depending on the type of event.
The Dress Code is always going to be a contentious issue, with different people having different ideas as to what is acceptable. However, we do have a Dress Code and Members are requested to be mindful of what is acceptable and what is not. To avoid any embarrassing situations, can we please ask all Members to keep the Dress Code in mind particularly when inviting guests to play or to join them in the Clubhouse for a meal.
