New Spinney in memory of past Captain

A new Spinney on the left of the fifth hole will be named the Dimmock Spinney in memory of a past Captain who passed away recently. The trees have been ordered and should be planted in the next week or so.

Stanley Dimmock was Captain in 1948. He was one of the members who kept the course open during the war and was playing in a four ball one Saturday afternoon with President Joyce Dunkley's father when they had a close call from the air either by a German aircraft or by the British chasing them!
