Awful weather...great result

Many of you will have been tucked up at home, looking out of the window on Friday evening thinking that anyone must be mad to be outside. Well, quite a few Club members were mad enough to play golf in the dark in aid of the Children In Need appeal.

In fact, this year we had a healthy turnout of 16 teams of four, one of the best we've had for a while. Rumour has it however, that at least one team decided to stay in the Clubhouse and have a few drinks while the rest of the players battled with a good deal of rain and, towards the end of the nine holes, a good deal of wind too!

Needless to say, the bangers and mash supper was very welcome.

The winners of the Texas Scramble were Helen Perry, Angela Allington, Jane Hoskin and Richard Hoskin with a gross 37, less 2.9 for a net 34.1

The real winner though was the Children In Need Appeal. On the night the total raised stood at £1,800 with more to come in.

If you haven't played in the Golf in the Dark event, then look out for it next year. It's a very different and very interesting night out.
